A stunning, full-bodied, powerful, complex, concentrated and oaky but well-balanced Bordeaux style blend, with potent fruit aromas and flavors of black currants, cassis, black cherries, and tart blackberries, amidst dollops of vanilla and with hints of dark chocolate, Mediterranean herbs, and spices.
Tulip Winery was established in 2003 in Kfar Tikvah, a community for special needs adults, in the Galil. One challenge was having the residents work in a Kosher winery, which took time to work out. The vineyards are mostly in the upper Galil and the Judean Hills. David Bar-Ilan, the winemaker, has a creative touch, which has led to their founding a sister winery, Maia.
